3 EASY Stress Reducing Activities
We all have stresses in life but we can do little things to reduce it.
Make Music or Play Piano even if you don’t have one.
The International Journal of Music Education published a study that playing piano and making music reduces stress. No room for a piano and didn’t learn to play. There are free phone apps for making music. Tap dots, make sounds, have fun.
Get in Good Company
Plan a regular friend date. Schedule a good time with friends whether it is to meet up for lunch, take a walk together, or see a funny movie. Laughing reduces stress and this is not to be a downer party. Everyone should make it a point to talk about the good things going on in their lives and share ideas.
We know you have heard this one before but according to the CDC 80% of adults don’t get the recommend amounts of exercise. Exercise has been shown to reduce tension levels, stabilize mood, and improve sleep.
Having an anxiety moment? 5 minutes of aerobic exercise has anti-anxiety effects.
If you are not regularly exercising or active now, give it a try for 2 weeks. If you are able, start with walking 15 minutes on week 1 and increase to 30 mins on week 2.
